Banner Advertising

Banner Advertising

Banner advertising has been around for many years now. The ‘web ad’ was first introduced to the internet as a form of advertising way back in 1993. The simple form of a web ad is a graphic displaying an advertising message drawing the readers attention to a certain product. Today the graphics are hyperlinked [linked to the product sales page] and often with tracking which is an easy way to advertise a product and measure the response rate and sales.

Banner sizes

Advertising banners or web banners come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and can be used on websites, splash pages, blogs or anywhere where there is a space to advertise your marketing message. Over time banner sizes have become standardised for convenience. Many home business owners now use banner advertising as a cheap method to promote their business and products.

Banner design

There are many places online that offer banner designs, custom banners for those who are not inclined to creating their own. Otherwise for those home business owners who would like to give it a go there are various free programs that will create a simple html or flash banner. There are also easy to use software programs that one can purchase for a small fee and that will create good looking professional banners in any size you desire.

Here are a few examples of banner ads, that I use, which were created by YORGOO-Ycademy members:

yorgoo

468×60 - standard banner size used in many programs all over the internet

cheap hosting

120×600 - A thin skyscraper banner used where a vertical image is required.

yorgooblaster

202×200 - flash banner used to advertise the YORGOOblaster.

There of course is the debate as to whether flashing and animated banners are more effective than the more simple graphic banners. Personally, if I am looking for good content or information on a site I find flashing banners irritating edspecially if they are irrelevant - non-contextual: eg: insurance ads on a food site. Using banners contextually is more likely to get a click through as it adds to the content and informs maybe about new products etc. A good example of contextual ads is Google Adsense ads that are always contextual to the site theme.

Beautifully designed web graphics like these created by Bianca Gubalke for Zoom Terre [owned by Laetitia Paris] enhance the whole browsing experience online which could otherwise be as dull as reading a school text book.

Free website traffic

Creating Free website traffic

There are many places online where you can create free website traffic to your web site. That means free advertising for your business. Some of these resources give better results than others. By advertising your business and keeping good track of what you do and the results you achieve, you soon build up your own list of where best to advertise your business.

Free traffic exchanges

One of the more common methods used by small home business marketers to create web traffic is to use traffic exchanges. Traffic exchanges work on the principle of ‘I view yours if you view mine’. The more you view the more credits you have to use to exchange for other members of the exchange viewing your website. Simple and effective free advertising. You can either generate your own credits or purchase them.

Most traffic exchanges also allow members to display banner advertising using the same principle, just another way to advertise a business.

Safelists

Free safelists are a popular way of promoting your business. Utilising email, members send out an advertising message to other members of the list. Credit based safelists are a good way of making sure your advertising email is read. From time to time this method of promoting a business is less rewarding due to the non delivery of email. However, if you build a large database of safelists, and are consistent with your mailings good results can obtained resulting in targeted free website traffic.

Classifieds

Classifieds are another good way to promote a business to a very targeted audience. Targeted beacause only people who are interested in your particular business proposition will click on the ad. Here a really good subject line for your ad is crucial. If you are not too good at creating eye catching headlines there are some good free headline generators around to help you with this task.

Blogging

By creating a blog that targets a specific niche that encompasses your business you increase the website traffic to your target. In this instance, you target the keywords that your business requires. Over time as you build momentum and increase your Google ranking you end up with a steady and increasing flow of free website traffic. Results are not instant but eventually rewarding. Posting on your blog has to be consistent to produce results.

These are just a few of the more popular ways to cereate a free traffic flow to your website, however in all cases you are well advised to build your list first with an optin page by using a generic lead generating system like YORGOO or setting up your own system. Building your list is an essential part of a successful marketing strategy. The money is in the list.

Free website traffic with YORGOO

Kirby Cross, May 1st, 2009, by Zo Nicholas

Build free website traffic

YORGOO is a great way to build free website traffic while being in total control of your downlines. If you use traffic exchanges to drive traffic to your website then you will notice that not all exchanges allow you access to your downlines that you have just recruited. Those that allow communication more often than not restrict you in what you communicate.

What this means for you….

you end up building a list for the owner of the exchange who then can send out mails to the downlines to whom you have no access at all. I don’t call this fair. Do you?

Lead generation

Here is where YORGOO comes in. With YORGOO you first build your list then send your list members to join the various traffic exchanges under you. In YORGOO when you are a pro member you can fully access the details of your downline and communicate with them. You have built your list first before sending them elsewhere. YOU work for YOURSELF otherwise you might as well stay as an employee at your job.

YORGOO is a list builder, first and foremost. A lead generator for any business YOU are involved in. As YORGOO is a completely generic list builder you can introduce your members to any business you are involved in. There are no restrictions.

Build free website traffic

As your YORGOO downlines join each of the traffic exchanges, for each member you get referral credits; for the surfing they do in the traffic exchange you benefit by being rewarded with credits. The larger your working downlines the more credits you accumulate to direct to your website. In time, with a working downline you can surf less, yet still have traffic to your website.

First, make sure you have followed the tutorial and joined the individual exchanges and updated the alloted space with your ID# from that exchange. You want to build your downlines and traffic for yourself.

Focus on a daily traffic generating routine. Be consitent. Surf your daily quota each and every day. If you were promoting your business offline you would need to use leaflet dropping, newspaper ads etc. Same principle applies online. Online this way you build free website traffic.

YORGOOblaster YB217 beta test

This week we have been testing out the new YB217beta theme to examine its efficiency  and performance on search engines.

The new theme, like all the others, can be adapted to suit every individuals needs and configured independently to target very specific niches. YORGOOblaster owners who attended the Friday nite webmaster training will have the beta version now in place and will daily be checking its performance on Google.

There are a few minor issues that will need adjusting however these do not hinder the performance of the new YORGOOblaster theme.

Happy testing!

YORGOOblaster content distribution

Content distribution and delivery

One of the projects that we have been focusing on over the past few months to help build our home based business is the YORGOOblaster: its purpose to distribute and manage web content. The blaster has been built to provide an automated system, to aid and automate lead and traffic generation by associating Search Engine Positioning, Emailing and Advertising.

YORGOOblaster

The blaster aids the distribution of blog contents and posts automatically into various topics and niches. As the YORGOOblaster combines Semiomantics features this also helps to correctly target niches on search engines! Every blaster is configured indepentantly and associates contextual advertising via google adsense or other related advertisers thus providing an added income stream for the owner.

The YORGOOblaster is one of the easiest aggressive marketing solutions for any beginner who wishes to promote a business or products. With an easy step by step guide it requires no more than a few simple clicks, a matter of copy paste and a bit of imagination to gain high visibility on Google and top ranking.

The results so far since the launch in November 2008 have proved its efficiency and success in gaining top ranking on some major keywords on search engines. Combining content, publishing and targeted marketing.
